With its fingers on the pulse of time, the string quartet PULSE formed
in 2019 and is dedicated to both performing contemporary works in a
cross-cultural context and realizing novel creative projects that
deliberately transcend the conventional boundaries of its genre to
experiment, improvise, and ultimately compose with innovation,
independence, ideas, and new concepts. Collaboration with composers
and collaborations with actors from outside the genre are central.
PULSE aims to show sources of inspiration and connections across the
centuries, cultural similarities, differences and how to deal with
them. PULSE also stands for the rhythm of time, so current electronic
possibilities of sound generation and processing and their connection
with the string instruments are sought: a sonic image and reflection
of the time we live in.
